What makes it unique is that it is not only useful to fight tooth decay, but is known as a killer that crushes the yeast, candida albicans from your mouth. This yeast is said to be dangerous, and can cause deadly infections.

Though natural health professionals have been suggesting coconut oil since decades, there is enough of research that proves this natural tooth remedy well.

Treatment for Candida Albicans

Conducted in the Athlone Institute of Technology, some researchers from Ireland examined the after-effects of digested and natural coconut oil on some common bacteria strains existing in the mouth. They came up with some amazing findings: The coconut oil could effectively reduce the majority of bacteria strains, and was also proven to be a good source to eliminate candida albicans from the mouth. Since this harmful yeast, candida albicans comes into existence because of the intake of excessive sugar and processed foods, it is crucial to get a solid solution to get rid of this yeast. And yes, the coconut oil is proven to be the right solution to this.

A Remedy for the “Candy Disease”

Also known as the Candida overgrowth, this candy disease or the Candida infection can be related with various symptoms such as chronic tiredness, digestive issues, and frequent yeast infections. Though patients suffering from the candy disease may know about its treatment already, they can also look forward to using coconut oil for the same. Keeping this in consideration, researchers have been highlighting the usefulness of coconut oil as the alternative for medicines related to dental treatments.

In the report, scientists have reported that this natural oil can be one of the best alternatives to chemical dental products that include added fluoride and different sulfate chemicals.

What to Consider When Buying the Best Coconut Oil

Now that you know about the potential contribution of using coconut oil as natural cure to various dental diseases, it is essential to ensure that you have purchased the right coconut oil. You have two choices, i.e. to buy high-quality, 100% organic coconut oil online, or from a reputable local store. Though the choice is yours, you need to make sure that you buy the right one.

Here are some useful tips to get the most from the purchase of coconut oil:

1. Check the labeling of the coconut oil brand. Is it USDA certified? If yes, then this indicates that it is a reliable brand.

2. It should be cold-pressed, unrefined, and 100% organic.

Many people are still not aware of the use of coconut oil as a dental treatment. However, there is still a lot to research on this interesting finding.

  1. Looks very interesting, looking forward to receiving you e-mails

  2. Great post to share!

  3. for the toothpaste do we melt the coconut oil and add the rest of the ingredients then let it solidify again?

    • I do what is called oil pulling. You swish it around in your mouth like mouthwash everymorning for 20 mins. Its supposed to draw out the bacteria. Then spit it in the trashcan after and not the sink because it will re solidify. You can also make toothpaste as well. I would do a quick google search to see what option you like best.

    • I want to know also about melting the coconut oil first also? And using that recipe for the toothpaste, how much does that make? And what kind of container can it be stored in?

    • You can just mash it all in with soft (solid) coconut oil. If you keep your home below 76 degrees, it will be solid. It will look like the stuff on the pictured toothbrush. We use the “Real Salt” for the extra minerals.

  4. I have dental appliances. Anything I need to be aware of?

  5. One might want to reconsider using sea salt now that the nuclear radiated water from Fukushima is going to be dumped into the sea….

  6. How do you put together the ingredients for the coconut oil toothpaste? ie: liquid or solid form of oil?

  7. Once mixed how long does the toothpaste last?

  8. This is so interesting and also encouraging because I have been using coconut oil in my toothpaste for awhile now. Here is a great coconut oil toothpaste recipe that I have shared on my blog.

  9. only problem i see with this toothpaste mixture.. why add stevia? no since in it..

  10. I mix coconut oil, baking soda, bentonite clay, cinnamon, sea salt, and some essential oils and xylitol if I have it; looks like a muddy paste but works great as a toothpaste. I get the 5-gallon Gold Label organic coconut oil from Tropical Traditions and use it on just about everything (cooking, cereal, smoothies, salads, yogurt, popcorn, etc.). It’s on sale ($200 instead of $250) until Sunday, 2-8-2014. Use my referral link and first-time customers will also get a free copy of their coconut book.
I doubled my good HDL cholesterol when I began consuming coconut oil; went from a rather anemic 36 to an off-the-chart good level of 72 (reference range for men is 35-55)!
